Flip Skateboards

Flip Skateboards originally started in the UK in the early 1990's as a sister company to Death Box Skateboards and the successor to Bash Skateboards.
The original team was Christian Heitmann as their first pro. Elton Whybrow, Chris Weinekker, Ivan Jenson, and Luke McKirdy made up the rest of the group.[1]

Flip moved from the UK to California in July 1994, Jeremy Fox, Ian Deacon, and Geoff Rowley were the first to arrive, team riders Tom Penny, Rune Glifberg moved in 95. At this point the team consisted of four pros - Tom Penny, Geoff Rowley, Rune Glifberg and Andy Scott

The company went on to become one of the world's biggest and most well known skateboard companies.[citation needed]

Four members have won the prestigious Thrasher Skater of the Year Award: Bob Burnquist in 1997 (though he was sponsored by Anti-Hero at the time), Geoff Rowley in 2000, Arto Saari in 2001, and Mark Appleyard in 2003 and 2007. Mark also won best street skater in Transworld skateboarding magazine.[citation needed]

Notable team members include Mark Appleyard, Bob Burnquist, Rune Glifberg, Lance Mountain, Tom Penny, and Geoff Rowley।

(2002) 50 Minutes.

Flip's video effort helped set the tone for street skateboarding videos of the 2000's. Starting with Mark Appleyard with a tons of hammers like the kickflip bs five-0 to the hubba, backside heelflip the sacramento 3-flat-3flat-3 excellent. Followed by Ali part the extravaganza skateboarding or "handrail manifiesto" so clearly that is another style, the main hammer is the 25 ollie attempt. Chalmers is next so great board control in that bowl, he can just go so high with this mini-ramps. Bastien Salabanzi the young kid from Congo a huge ripper and a nice 16 stair kickflip fs boardslide at the end.Rune Glifberg other great part plus he is the only that skate huge ramps, next is the lost Tom Penny in a mini ramp montage. The end of the video is with Tom Penny and Arto Saari with a huge Tom Penny comeback and a cammed Arto Saari from coma after a huge bail.

Pumulani and Mumbo Island

Pumulani and Mumbo Island

Malawi is a landlocked country, running down the end of the Great Rift Valley. Dominated by Lake Malawi, the third largest lake in Africa, the surrounding country is exceptionally beautiful with dramatic scenery that includes rocky outcrops, high mountains, plateaus and views across what is considered to be Africa’s most beautiful lake. Malawi is known as the “Friendly Heart of Africa” and as a people the Malawians live up to this name. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. There are many market scenes, road side stalls, cottage industries that a visitor can comfortably visit. With both the scenery and the culture Malawi is a great country to drive in.

Combining the luxury lodge of Pumulani and the more informal atmosphere of Mumbo Island can be compared to staying at a safari lodge and then spending a few night at a bushcamp. It makes for an excellent stay at Lake Malawi.

Day 1-3 – From Lilongwe Airport, the flight to Monkey Bay is one hour with great views of the escarpment, lake and then the rocky Nankumba Peninsula. The airstrip is a short 20 minute transfer from Pumulani through village and bush scenes onto the western side of Nankumba Peninsula at the south end of Lake Malawi. Set on a hillside overlooking the lake, Pumulani has ten villas scattered, blending in with their natural surroundings. All villas are individual in shape and style with lots space and large windows to appreciate the views. Large doors from both the sitting room and bedroom lead out onto an elevated deck.

The central dinning and bar area is high above the lake with the most spectacular views and leads onto an expansive deck. The infinity swimming pool is on a lower terraced deck. The lake shore bar offers light snacks as well as refreshments. Meals will be served in the dining area, on the beach or by arrangement on your private deck. The stunning setting of the lodge and the unique comfort of the rooms means that many guests choose to make relaxation their main activity, but there are more than enough activities available to keep guests busy.

Pumulani’s remote beach setting is ideal for those who simply want to soak up the sun and swim in the clear blue waters of the lake. There is an infinity pool with grand views over the lake for those who prefer to take a dive in the swimming pool. For those seeking activity there are many watersports activities on offer like snorkelling, fishing, sailing, kayaking, waterskiing, wake boarding and fun tube rides (all motorized activities are excluded).

Lake Malawi is the world’s most ecologically diverse lake. Its crystal clear waters are home to more than a thousand species of fish, including hundreds of species of colourful cichlids. A special treat is to take a snorkelling tour to the islands, exploring the shores of Lake Malawi National park on your way. This has been a World Heritage site since 1984. On the way you will see many fish eagles and other interesting birds. The water is so clear that you will observe marine life from aboard the boat.

For those who are interested in the real Malawian village life there are guided walks through one of the local villages. Malawians are renowned for being amongst the most friendly people in Africa and during your stay you will have the opportunity to meet them.

At the end of the day climb aboard our dhow and let our experienced local crewmen take you sailing into the sunset.

Day 4-5 –After breakfast, and at your own time, the transfer to Mumbo Island is a boat ride in a speed boat and will take 15 minutes from Pumulani. Mumbo Island is an exclusive camp situated on a pristine and otherwise-deserted tropical island floating on the clear waters of Lake Malawi.

Mumbo Island camp, run by Kayak Africa, comprises of five large twin bedded safari tents and a four bed family tent, each fully furnished with its own shaded view-deck and hammock, and blending seamlessly into the lush foliage. Each room has a thatched roof and the tents are mosquito proofed. The tents are raised on timber decks or on the high rocks that are typical around this island. There is a dining area and bar, all of timber, thatch and canvas, and adhering to the principles of eco-architecture. There are timber walk ways over the boulders between the tents and central area and the beach. The beach is private and nestled in between huge boulders.

There is no electricity on the island. Lighting is by means of hurricane lanterns. Water is fire heated.

The Island lies within an exclusive concession area, in turn part of the Lake Malawi National Park, the first freshwater marine reserve in the world. Like at Pumulani the waters are so crystal clear, the diving and snorkelling are among the best in Lake Malawi. Guests can relax in tranquil surroundings with delicious cuisine, lying in hammocks or gently floating in the waters. But for the more energetic there is a variety of activities, excellent sea kayaking, snorkelling and scuba facilities. Exploring the granite islands in kayaks is great fun. Birders will enjoy the abundant fish eagles and snorkellers can view enormous numbers of the cichlid fish; these small, colourful fish have adapted to so many variations that they are considered of comparable importance to the Galapagos finches in the study of evolution.

Day 6 –After a breakfast you will be picked up by a Pumulani boat for the short transfer (15 mins) to the lodge. From here you will have a 20 minute transfer to Monkey Bay airstrip to meet your plane.

The waters are clean, the sea life

The waters are clean, the sea life is abundant and temperatures are ideal, nothing can compare with the thrill that scuba diving offers. Opportunity to explore the mysteries of the sea attracts many travelers to visit some of the most accessible and picturesque coastline.

In this article we will present the places where the water is warm (25 degrees Celsius and above) and where the main spotlight are our coral reefs and marine flora and fauna. We start with the Red Sea. Most experienced divers will agree with us that the Red Sea is the best place to see the abundance of underwater life. Perfect vision, which is here allowed to see the richness, diversity, and greater range of colors of marine flora and fauna, which in turn ensures you unforgettable moments. Red Sea offers a first class cruise ship which cross the region and calling for great places for studying the marine world. The best period for this is between June and October. One of the most popular dive sites are Egypt (Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada (Dahab and Safaga). It Israel (Eilat), Jordan (Akuba), Sudan (difficult to access, but very clean and beautiful place).

Red Sea is one of the most exciting and busiest places in the world and Ras Mohammed National Park in particular offers seats for all levels of diving skill. Usual deep reefs and strong currents made the study a real challenge, but once you get used to these things, diving in the Red Sea becomes addictive.
Notable tracks offers many sharks and rays meru fish; In a Notable tracks Yolanda wreck; city has more of anemone and anemone fish smaller than you've seen even Discovery, Ras Zatar offer great opportunities for pictures and examining the caves.

Become increasingly popular for this purpose and northern Ethiopia (Eritrea), where divers have discovered a pristine coral reefs and the life there was destroyed years ago when there was a local war and famine.

Bazaruto Archipelago, Mozambique
Four secluded island a short distance away from the coast of Mozambique expected arrival. In addition to the reefs and clear waters that enthusiasts expect, the National Marine Park also offers a unique sea diving and exploration of the wreck.
Diving is often done in open waters, with views of the islands. The best time is June, July and August when the heat is bearable. If you are interested to visit the archipelago Barazuto, be sure to check guidance from the Foreign Ministry, since Mozambique is still suffering from unrest after a long civil war.

Maldives are the next place at which the stop. Located in the Indian Ocean northwest of Sri Lanka, this archipelago of hundreds of islands is also one of the best dive sites in the world. Crystalline water and abundant flora and fauna, making the Maldives one of the most visited places by people practicing the sport. From the capital Male, divers can then go to that island they choose. Diving can be done year round.

Here the water is warm and clean and is home to a huge variety of marine organisms. The best places in the Caribbean are the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas archipelago, Saba, Bonaire, Belize (where is the second largest coral reef after Australia). Turks and Caicos Islands, the coast of Florida, Yucatan peninsula in Mexico.

Island of Ambergris Cay, Belize
You will feel like a real explorer, diving among the warm Caribbean waters of Belize. That resting place is highly undervalued and most people do not even know that Belize is in Central America south of Mexico.
But this works well for divers who can dive in peace, then lie on the beach. The main dive sites are around San Pedro, the biggest tourist section of Belize. You can swim near yuzhnoatlanticheski sharks and rays at Shark Ray, to drag up the bark of the Barrier Reef and make pictures of curious underwater marine life.

Great Cayman, Cayman Islands
Known as the King of Caribbean diving sites, and they are many, the Caymans offer all options from which divers need.
First time was pretty good during most of the year with rain, which suddenly appeared only during the summer months, second the water is warm and clean, ideal for study of Big Cayman reefs and viewing rays and angel fish, in their habitat. Moreover, visitors have access to both the well-known, and to the untouched corners. Little research will lead to operators who will be hired to take you to the most isolated points, if you really excited.

Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands
Increasingly popular tourist point, Turks and Caicos islands offer just as much fun under water as above it. The islands are located north of the island and Espanyol are considered part of the Bahamas, as the central point of the Turks and Caicos Islands is Grand Turk, a real dream for divers.
Thanks to the efforts of the Government on the protection of precious natural scenery - great works by preventing the banks of the Grand Turk, divers can swim just about untouched reefs, dunes and sea slopes.

According to biologists and researchers Indian Ocean is the richest place in the world of marine life. Here are detected each year and more new species hitherto unknown to mankind. The best places are: Indonesia (Manado, Komodo, Lombok, Flores and Alor), Borneo (Sipadan), Peninsula Malaysia (Pulau Peyar marine park, Pulau Tioman, Pulau Redang and Pulau Perentan), Thailand (Deang Hin, Hin Muang) , Burma and the Marianas Islands (Guam and Saipan). This area is under the influence of two Masons during the year: northwest and northeast, which have wet and dry weather, depending on location.

Phuket, Thailand
There reason I Phuket is known as the "Pearl of the South." Water to the shore are full of marine life and has a very large selection of opportunities for diving, from coral fields at the remains of ships and caves.

To truly experience this point turisitcheska familiar choose divers cruise type "living on board, and as the name suggests, this means hiring a boat and diving for days, even without seeing land. Exactly one such journey is most likely to make a friend docile whale sharks can travel with coats, and explore caves.

The largest coral reef in the world is located on the east coast of Australia over 2000 kilometers long. The best places for diving there are Cairns, Townsville and Heron Island. Here you can choose between dives by boat or land.

Heron Island, Queensland, Australia
This island is perhaps you stranger, but can not but have heard of the Great Barrier Reef. This is the king of dive sites, Notable tracks is the largest in the world and habitat for thousands of species - from the big white shark to many different natural treasures. Heron Island is at the heart of the reef, small and unassuming, he offers the best diving you can ever see.

Any one of these places should not be missed by fans of this sport, even those who are not so keen. If you have the good fortune to encounter any of these places should not be thinking over the ability to look at this vast and poorly studied yet the world for mankind, because surely you will stay to put it mildly impressed.

EFFECTIVE divers "eye" of the Rila for a Blue Planet

EFFECTIVE divers "eye" of the Rila for a Blue Planet - Todor T IME LIMITS
Turkana. Eye, Rila
The first ever research expedition deep osashtestvi Bulgarian team of divers to the bottom of the "eye" - one of the 7 Rila ezera.Rumen Zhelezarov (diving instructor at Club Marina - Plovdiv) and Vladimir Vekov (broadcaster BTV in ) for the first time in the history of diving in Bulgaria descend approximately 40 meters deep at the deepest in the country on the Balkan peninsula and glacier lake - "The Eye" - 2440 m altitude. The expedition was carried out within a few days in the month of October 2005, a physical and logistical preparation for it takes more than 4 months. The purpose of Diving Eye Project 2005 "is proceeding with the first to reach the bottom of glacial lakes, and the mobilization of sediment from the bottom deposits. For the realization of the project was needed special permission by the management of National Park Rila. Rumen Zhelezarov and Vladimir Vekov reached the bottom after only 15 minutes downhill. The instruments are used bottles filled with ordinary air (21% oxygen - 79% nitrogen) under high pressure and not by special gas mixtures used in deep diving descents. During the trial in the lake water is 2 degrees and the bottom temperature 9 degrees surface temperature. Sediment samples taken are free of charge donated to the Department of General and Applied Hydrobiology "at the Biological Faculty of Sofia Uneversitet University. Preliminary results show scientists extreme purity of water, little mineralization of the surface of microorganisms as poverty and low oxygen in bottom layers. The two professional divers have used the latest published scientific data on the Lake "The Eye" in 1963. Then the researchers using a rope and weight were measured depth of 37.5 m. On reaching the bottom, the measurements in 2005 show a depth of 37.7 m. Shot a 3-minute report with unique footage from the bottom of the lake. "A major problem with underwater photography is the light because much of it is lost as deeper peek lens. Therefore, an airtight box on the camera is installed special lighting. The entire set weighs over 7 pounds, but the water helps to "lies", says Vladimir. "The visibility, however, was exceptional! Down in the deepest water is blue, turquoise, greenish and not that deep into the sea. And it is clear, indeed crystal clear, and looks as if it grebnesh shore in hand. Everything is clearly visible - an exclusive chance for our underwater footage. I expected the stones are covered with algae, but they were clean, polished by water, especially if someone had polished them for the pictures. "Specialist lighting he carried to his equipment and that the camera does not need to use because the visibility was excellent, "said organizer and launching the expedition Rumen Zhelezarov." We knew that this was the deepest cold and our lake. The data that we had in 1968 indicating that it is 37.5 meters. It is proved by 20 centimeters deeper - 37.7 meters account of our computer. No wonder prove that in the past 20 years, the depth is increased naturally, Vladimir continued his story. "Upon reaching the bottom we found that it is equally covered with a fine layer of silt, whose thickness was about 10 cm "Another surprise for our team was the lack of any visible life," recalls Vladimir. "He told us that there are trout in the lake. We met no fish, nor any animals not only shallow but also deep. probably at 3 degrees, as is the temperature at the bottom, there are not many forms of life that can thrive.
